Systems Biology Workbench Portable (SBWP) is the portable edition of Systems Biology Workbench (SBW), which is an environment designed for systems biology. It is composed of several applications for quantitative modeling and simulation.
The use of the products is different. The standalone version (SBD) is used to design models, while the other (SBWP) is used to run them.
SBWP uses C# and C++ software. The former can be launched from Java, the latter from the C#.NET runtime. It is possible to set the software as a shared library with Java or.NET for use with other programming languages.
The features offered are as follows:
Model editor
The model editor provides you with a well-organized interface where you can design, add and modify the input and output of SBML and SBGN simulations. It’s possible to add different data types, add parameters for species, set the initial concentration of species, and set data types for all reactions. You can add fluxes, generate code to run simulations, and validate the model code.
You can also change the name of the model, add a simulator, create compartments, add different species and reactions, add control points, set the visualization parameters, and more.
Model inspector

You can also save the parameters you used to the last simulation (the simulation will run again with the same parameters), edit the document in place, or export it to PDF.
Simulation
The simulation tool lets you run SBML models by providing them with parameters such as species concentration, fluxes, or initial conditions.
It’s possible to generate graphs, change the time range, and toggle the display of kinetic equations.

This tool shows the different contents of the model and model inspector.
Assembly explorer
This tool lets you load components from a ZIP file.
